Red Sandstone Cliffs
This is a shot of the awesome red sandstone cliffs up in the Valley Of Fire State Park in Nevada. I'm posting them because I'm headed back up there in January for a quick overnighter.
I have to go to Las Vegas for a business trip and plan to slip out for a day and night and explore the desert north of the city. Since the state park is only about an hour away I'm going to motor over and spend the night at foot of these red sandstone cliffs. I'd love to see what's in the various caves and openings up top, but having no safety gear and other people around, it's not going to happen. I'll have to save that for the summer when I come back for a good week or so.
If you're in Vegas, make sure you go see Boulder Dam and then follow Lake Mead north till you hit the edge of the Valley Of Fire. You can then cut right through the park and head back into Vegas doing a round trip of only about 150 miles! Worth it, trust me!
See ya' out there!
