Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep
...out in the desert of course, the natural home of all prophets and desert bloggers;)
This was our little seista spot during our excursion to Lake Mead in Nevada last August. The heat was not too bad, but after six hours out in the unrelenting sunshine, it was time to seek some shade and nap till the sun set. So we crashed out behind the jeep as you can see.
Now, you wouldn't want to sleep like this at night out on the desert floor, because you might just wake up with a scorpion or rattler curled up beneath you. They seek out warm spots at night to escape the chill and nothing says "warm and toasty" like a human in a sleeping bag....and always be sure to shake out your shoes in the morning before you put them on - better yet, put your shoes up off the ground during the night.
...although, I think if something crawled into my smelly desert boots it might die of exposure to the fumes before morning!;)
