Camping At Lake Mead

When we were up in Nevada's Valley Of Fire state park, we slipped over to the western side of Lake Mead for a day of sun and swimming that was fantastic!

The water was cool and clear, the weather perfect and the area totally deserted. We drove right down to the shoreline at Stewart's Point (an area with lots of primitive campsites - i.e., nothing but open land;)

Here's a shot of the desert blogger mobile backed right up to the edge of the lake-

We couldn't believe how nice the area was, nobody around and what a view! I'll post some other pics later of the area and shoreline and the awesome sunset we enjoyed.

Of course we had to have a BBQ for dinner and do some steaks and chicken!

If you ever get a chance to visit Lake Mead, be sure to bring the sunscreen and water toys (luckily I had an air matress in the camping box I carry that did double duty as a floatation "device").... you'll love it!

A lake in desert, how cool is THAT?
