Moonlight Mesa Meteor Shower
Here's the spot I watched the Perseid meteor shower from this year-
It's out in the north side of Joshua Tree and really quite a beautiful place. Surrounded by mountains and tucked in a secluded little valley. It's fast becoming one of my favorite spots to watch sunsets and relax.
The meteor shower was so-so, nothing like the one I first witnessed back in the early nineties. The peak hours of 2 am to 6 am on both nights yielded a few decent falls, but it was mainly little dust particles that just flared for a second and were gone.
I had a good time never the less, as being out in the starry desert at night is always a pleasure!
